Vegetative Propagation
It is a type of asexual reproduction in which new plants are produced from
vegetative parts of a plant such as roots, stems, leaves, and buds.
Vegetative propagation can take place naturally and can also be carried out
by artificial means.
Natural Vegetative Reproduction
1. Vegetative propagation from root:
Some plants like sweet potato, asparagus, and dahlia have swollen roots without any
shape due to the storage of food in them. These roots are called tuberous roots.
These roots have small buds that give rise to a new plant when they are planted into
the soil.

2. Vegetative propagation from the stem:
In some plants, underground stems are modified to store food and have some
special structures which are capable of producing new plants.
