b) White Blood Cells or White Blood Corpuscles (WBC):
• Amoeboid in nature to reach the infection site easily
• Life span varies between few hours to a few days
• Help in fighting against disease causing germs.
• Produced in the Bone marrow (also lymph nodes & spleen)
• Usually destroyed during infection or filtered by lymphatic system
c) Platelets:
• Smallest blood cells
• helps in the clotting of blood
• Produced in the Bone marrow
• Destroyed in the spleen
• Life span is that of 7-10 days
