 Earthworms (Friend of farmers) ingest the soil and then excrete it out after
                       digesting the organic matter.
 Worms help by burrowing the soil.
 Ants, beetles, centipedes, rabbits and moles also live in the soil.

                   Soils and Crops:

 The type of crops that can be grown depends on the type and properties of
the soil in that particular region.
 Soil rich in humus supports proper growth of plants.
 Cereals and vegetable crops are grown in clayey and loamy soil as they have
                       good water retaining capacity.
 Paddy grows well in soil rich in clay due to its ideal water retaining capacity.
 Pulses and lentils grow well in loamy soil.
 Cotton is grown in black soil which has more sand content than loamy soil.
Cotton does not require excess water.
