               Sheep farming:
                   •  Rearing and breeding of sheep is called sheep farming.
                   •  Sheep are reared for their wool.
                   •  They are reared in herd in arid, semi-arid, and mountainous regions.
                   •  In India, sheep are reared in Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Himanchal
                       Pradesh and Uttarakhand. They are fed on grass also mixture of pulses.
                   •  Some common Indian sheep are Lohi , Rampur bushair, Nali, Bakharwal,
                       Marwari &patanwadi.
                   Following steps are involved in processing of wool.

                   1.  Shearing:


















               The process of removal of woollen coat or fleece from the animal is called shearing.

                   •  Shearing can be done by both power operated machine and manual tools like
                       blade, scissors etc.
                   •  Shearing is done in hot season which grow by the time of winter.
                   •  Quantity of wool produced varies from 1 to 3 kg.
