 Dam is constructed to hold back water and raise its level, forming a reservoir
behind it. Floodgate of dams is used to manage or prevent water flow in specific
                       land regions.
 Dams are also used to generate electricity.
 Dams supply water it’s surrounding when there is lack of rainfall and store the
                       excess water during heavy rainfall.
               Rainwater harvesting:
Collection of rain water for using and reusing it for house-hold purpose.
Rainwater harvesting can be done by the following ways:
               Rooftop rainwater harvesting:
 This is the method of collecting rainwater from the rooftop of a building through
                       pipes into water tank.
 This can be later filtered by simple methods for future use.
               Pits or tanks:
 Pits and tank can be made in low lying areas to collect rainwater. The water can be
                       filtered and disinfected for consumption.
 Rainwater harvesting also used to replenish underground water.
