MOVEMENT IN HUMAN BEINGS
Human beings –
• Walk, run and jump.
• They can move from one place to another- locomotion.
• They eat, laugh, talk and wave hands etc to show movement.
• They are called vertebrates- as they have a backbone present within the
body.
• They have an endoskeleton- Skeleton is inside the body.
• The skeleton and muscles are involved in both locomotion and movement.
• The bones are rich in calcium.
THE HUMAN SKELETON
• The skeleton is the framework of the body and is formed by the bones .
• The skeleton of a normal adult human is made up of 206 bones.
• Apart from bones and muscles, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and joints also
form a part of the skeletal system.
