Recycling Paper:
Paper is obtained from trees. Due to excessive use of paper, trees are cut at an
alarming rate. Cutting of trees can be reduced by recycling paper. Recycled paper can
be used for making carry bags, envelopes, rough notebooks, food cartons etc.
To save trees we must use paper carefully. We can follow some simple practices:
(i) Write on both sides of the paper.
(ii) Avoid printing unnecessary pages.
(iii) Reuse newspapers to cover books.
(iv) Make a new notebook by removing unused pages of an old notebook.
Doing away with Plastic Bags:
Overusing of plastics has become a serious issue now. Plastic is non-biodegradable. It
cannot be burnt because it emits toxic gases, some of them are carcinogenic.
We can follow the following steps to manage our plastic bags carefully.
(i) Use reusable cloth bags. Avoid plastic bags.
(ii) Reuse plastic bags before discarding them.
(iii) Dispose plastic bags in a proper place so that they can be recycled.
