Water pollution:
Water pollution occurs when a water body is adversely affected by the addition of
large amount of unwanted materials into it.
Following are the main causes of water pollution:
Use of large amounts of Herbicide, pesticides and fertilizers by farmers in
their farms that are washed away by rain water into nearby rivers.
Waste and sewage generated by factories can get into the water supply.
Sewage generated by house which includes materials flushed out from our
bathrooms or waste water from bathing, washing and other household
activities may also pollute nearby water bodies.
Littering on the land or on the water is an additional source of water pollution.
