Example-3: The price of a dozen oranges is ₹96.What is the cost of 10 oranges?
Solution- 1dozen= 12
Cost of 12 oranges=₹96
Cost of 1 orange =₹96 ÷12= ₹8
Cost of 10 oranges= ₹8 x10=₹80
Hence, cost of 10 oranges is ₹80.
Example-4: The annual rent of a house is ₹58500.What is its rent for 15 months?
Solution- The annual rent of a house =₹58500
Annual= 12 months
Rent per month= ₹58500 ÷ 12= ₹4875
Rent for 15 months= ₹4875x 15=₹73,125.
Hence, rent for 15 months is ₹73,125.
PREPARATION OF BILL-
In order to make up our daily needs, we purchase things from the market. When we buy
something from a shop ,the shopkeeper makes a record of the articles we buy, the rate
of each article, the cost of each article and the total price etc on a slip of paper that is
called as Bill or Cash Memo.
A printed bill has:
i) The name,address and phone number of the shop.
ii)Bill number.
iii) Space to write date of purchase.
iv)Space to write the name and address of the buyer.
v) Five columns ,one each for serial number, the name of the item, quantity, rate and
the amount .
vi) Space to write the total price.
vii) Space for signature of the seller.
