Subhash Chandra Bose:

• Subhash Chandra Bose formed the Indian National Army in 1943 to fight

against the British.

• The Indian National Army also had a women’s regiment known as the

Rani Jhansi Regiment.

• Subhash Chandra Bose gave the famous slogans “Give me blood and I

will give you freedom” and “Jai Hind”.

India Wins Freedom:

• India became independent on 15 August 1947.

• Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India.

• Rajendra Prasad became the first President of independent India.
