  There are 13 major ports in India.

                     The Suez Canal was built in 1869.
                     Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers are navigable.

                     Waterways are of two types- Inland waterways and oceanic waterways.
                     The important sea routes of the world are:

                      a.  Suez Canal connecting the port of Suez on the Red sea to the Port Said
                          on the Mediterranean Sea.
                      b.  Panama Canal connects the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic Ocean.

                      c.  North Atlantic Route between North America and western Europe.
                      d.  South  Atlantic  Route  joins  North  America  and  Europe  with  South

                          America.
               Airways:











                     The Flyer is the first aeroplane.

                     The Wright Brothers- Orville and Wilbur invented the first aeroplane.
                     Heathrow in London, Kennedy in New York and DeGaulle in Paris are the
                      two popular airports of the world.

                     Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport in Mumbai are
                      some of the two international airports in India.

                     Trans  World  airlines  and  United  Airlines  are  the  two  important  air
                      companies of the world.

               AirIndia is run by the government of India.
