2. Factories are being shifted away from places where people live. Also, there
is a ban on throwing industrial waste into water bodies.
3. Every year, Van Mahotsav is celebrated in the month of July. It is a week-
long festival in which trees are planted on a large scale all across India.
4. Farmers are being encouraged to use natural fertilisers.
5. Vehicles more than 15 years old are not allowed to run on the roads as old
vehicles emit more smoke.
6. In some cities, such as Delhi, the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) is
being encouraged. It is much cleaner fuel than petrol and diesel as it causes
less pollution.
