Deforestation also exposes the soil to wind and water, making it prone to
erosion and thus, land degradation.
Land pollution not only destroys the aesthetic beauty
of a place, but also impacts human health. Garbage
dumped carelessly on land acts as a breeding ground
for many mosquitoes and pests and spread diseases
like malaria, dengue etc.
Plants do not grow well in soil contaminated with chemicals. Animals also
lose their habitat as a result of land pollution.
IV. NOISE POLLUTION
Excessive noise that is harmful to both humans and animals is known as
noise pollution.
Noise produced from vehicles, loudspeakers and machines used in factories
are the sources of noise pollution.
