2. FILTRATION
• In filtration, the insoluble
impurities present in water are
removed by passing the impure
water through a filter paper.
•For example, if we pass a
mixture of sand and water
through a filter paper placed in
a funnel, then water will pass Filtration
trough filter paper. This water
can be collected in a flask.
•Sand, being unable to pass
through the fine pores of the
filter paper, stays behind on
the paper.
