Importance of the Atmosphere

 The Atmosphere helps us in many ways:

1) It maintains the right temperature for the survival of living organisms on
the earth. It allows only some of the heat to reach the earth surface, while
the rest is reflected back. Thus, the earth does not become too hot during
the day. Also, heat trapped by the atmosphere prevents the earth from
becoming too cold during the night.

2) It protects the earth from harmful UV rays of the sun.

3) It helps in recycling water through evaporation of water from water
bodies, condensation of water vapour and rainfall.
