Space journey:
• Apollo 11:
• Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the Moon.
• The first steps by humans on another planetary body were
taken by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on July 20, 1969.
• The astronauts also returned to Earth the first samples from
another planetary body.
• After traveling 240,000 miles in 76 hours, Apollo 11 entered
into a lunar orbit on July 19.
• The next day, at 1:46 p.m., the lunar module Eagle, manned
by Armstrong and Aldrin, separated from the command
module, where Collins remained.
• They spent 21 hours and 36 minutes on the surface of the
moon and collected 21.5 kg of materials from moon to bring
back to the Earth.
