It is called new moon. New moon is not visible in the night sky.
2) Waxing Crescent Moon
It is when small part of the moon’s surface is being illuminated and becomes visible.
The moon appears to be filling out. Its full name is waxing crescent moon.
A waxing moon is growing full each night.
3) First Quarter Moon
The right side of the moon appears bright and the left side appears dark.
The bright side of the moons become larger and larger until it reaches full moon.
It is called first quarter moon.
4) Waxing Gibbous Moon
We will see that more than half of the moon is lighted.
It continues to grow until finally Earth is between Sun and the Moon.
It is called Waxing Gibbous Moon
