Machines require human energy in order to work. A machine makes our work easier
implies that we need less force to do the same amount of work. They save our time,
effort and labour.
Machines can be simple or complex. Simple machines are basics and have few parts
while complex machines use combination of two or more simple machines.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF SIMPLE MACHINES:
1. LEVER –
When a long plank or pole is used to lift a heavy or large load, it is called a lever.
A lever is a simple machine consists of a long rigid bar, which is free to turn about a fixed
point called a fulcrum.
The object to be lifted or moved is known as the load, while the force applied on the
lever to lift the object is known as the effort.
