• It has a subtle relation to instinct.
• They are not controlled by our brain but our
spinal cord.
• When the sensory nerves detect the object
touched is very hot or cold, they immediately
send message to the spinal cord.
• The spinal cord then sends back the message to
the hand through the motor nerves to withdraw
the hand.
• Reflex actions are so fast that occurs almost in a
fraction of seconds.
