Page 3 - MIND MAP AND NOTES CH-7-THE MORALS OF CHESS
P. 3
If your adversary is taking time to make his next move, you ought not to hurry him
or express any uneasiness at his delay. You should not do anything to disturb his
attention or break his morale. Following this rule is a sign of sportsmanship.
You must never aim to amuse or deceive your adversary by pretending to have
made a bad move and saying you have now lost the game; for this is fraud and not
shill in the game. In fact, the more silently game of chess is played, the better.
You must both win and lose with grace. It is important to remember that there will
always be someone who will win and someone who will lose, and that someone
can very well be you.
These rules, whether followed in a game or in life, can take us a long way and
remarkably add to our success.
