• Rule- To subtract given amounts of money ,We will follow the following steps

• Step-1-Express the given amounts in figures,using decimal notation .

• Step-2- Arrange the given amounts in a column in such a way that rupees part will

be under rupees column and paise will be in paise column and decimal points fall
in one column.

• Step-3- Then subtract as ordinary numbers.

• Step-4- After getting the difference ,put the decimal point in the decimal point’s

column.
• Example-1: Subtract ₹124.45 from ₹500.20 Solution- ₹ P

• Step-1 500 . 20
