Conservation of forest
Due to modernization, industrialization, urbanization the forests are being
cut to fulfill the human needs.
To protect the Himalayan forests Sundarlal Bahuguna had started the
Chipko Movement in Uttarakhand in 1974.
For reforestation, every year Vanmahostav is celebrated in different parts
of the country. On this day people plant trees.
