CAUSES OF WATER POLLUTION

• Wastes from home- The wastes such as plastic
bags, wrappers and cartons are thrown into ponds
and rivers, which makes the water dirty.

• People who live near rivers and ponds- The
people who live near rivers and ponds pollute
water by washing clothes and bathing in them.
These activities release harmful substances into
water.

• Waste from factories- The poisonous substances
present in the wastes coming from factories, make
the water polluted.

• Chemical substance- Certain chemical substances
used by farmers to grow plants also get washed
into rivers, ponds and lakes which make the water
polluted.
