SOLUTE, SOLVENT AND SOLUTION
NOTES:
CHANGES IN THE STATE OF MATTER
One state of matter can be changed into another by cooling and heating.
When ice which is the solid state of water, is placed outside the freezer, it
changes into the liquid form as the temperature outside is higher than the
temperature of freezer. When water is heated, it changes into water vapour,
which is the gaseous state of water.
On cooling, water vapour changes into water and water changes into ice.
SOLUTE, SOLVENT AND SOLUTION
SOLUTE: Substance which is dissolved in solvent to form a solution.
SOLVENT: Substance in which solvent is dissolved.
SOLUTION: Substance obtained after dissolving solute in solvent.
