Key events in the story:

The Head of a village decides to carry out an
experiment in his village along with Sir Pablo

Smith who had invented a device that could

remove unwanted sounds around the people.

Everyone in the village, except Mike, is
excited as they believe that they will get rid

of all the unwanted sounds.

Mike was afraid that the device will

take away the pleasant sounds also.

His questions irritate the village head and
he scorns Mike for his foolish questions.

As a punishment for his adamance, Mike’s
house is excluded from the experiment.

Unfortunately, the foolish people and the
head of the village fail to see what Mike

does.

This punishment turns into a blessing for
Mike who house is not affected by the

device.

The device removes all the sounds from the
village including the chirping of the birds,
clanging of the bells, and the neighing of the
horses. Only Mike’s voice remains.
