CHAPTER-7-THERAINBOW
MIND MAP
In the first stanza, the poet describes the beauty
that exists in nature, not only on the earth but
also in the sky above. She literally goes on to say
that clouds that sail in the sky create a picture far
more beautiful than the boats sailing in the rivers
or ships in the sea.
In the second stanza, she further points out that the
man-made bridges although pretty cannot be compared
to the beautiful rainbow that connects the earth to the
sky.
•Nature has its own beautiful creations and we should
learn to appreciate them and take inspiration from
them.
NOTES:
The rainbow is a short descriptive poem written by Christina Rossetti. In this
poem, she takes the reader on a journey atop some beautiful means of transport
other than the ones developed by humans. She describes a rainbow as a bow
that bridges earth and heaven. The poet has used alliteration in the poem.
