TRINING  IN SPORTS

                                                     CHAPTER – 10
                                                       CLASS – XII


       TRAINING MEANS THE PROCESS OF PREPARATION FOR SOME TASK.

       SPORTS TRAINING MEANS TERMS IS PREVALENTLY USED IN SPORTS AND GAMES IS CALLED .

        BASIC FORM PREPARING THE SPORTSMAN FOR A COMPETITION.

        IT IS A SYSTOMATICALLY PLANNED PREPARATION WITH THE HELP OF VARIOUS EXERCISES.
       SYSTOMATIC TRAINING IMPROVES ATHLET’S FITNESS LEVEL.

       IT IS THE BASIC OF HIS/HER PREPAREDNESS FOR SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS.

       STRENGTH:
       IT IS THE ABILITY OF THE MUSCLESTO OVERCOM RESISTANCE IT IS THE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL
       FITNESS.

       TYPES OF STRENGTH:
       THERE ARE TWO  TYPES OF STRENGTH SUCH AS: 1. DYNAMIC STRENGTH, 2. STATIC STRENGTH
          1.  DYNAMIC STRENGTH: IT CAN BE  CALLED ISOTONIC STRENGTH BECAUSE  IT IS RELATED TO MOVEMENTS.
          MOVEMENTS ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE.
          DYNAMIC STRENG: THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF STRENGTH SUCH AS:
          A.  MAXIMUM STRENGTH  B. EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH  C. STRENGTH ENDURANCE
          A.  MAXIMUM STRENGTH : IT IS THE ABILITY TO WORK AGAINST  MAXIMUM RESISTANCE.  EX: WEIGHT
              LIFTING & ALL THROWING EVENTS, AND TAKEUP TIME OF ALL THE JUMPS.

          B.  EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH: ABILITY TO OVERCOM RESISTANCE WITH HIGH SPEED.  IT IS COMBINATION OF
              STRENGTH AND SPEED ABILITIES. GENERALLY USED IN SPRINTS STARTS.

          C.  STRENGTH ENDURANCE: IT IS THE ABILITY OF STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE. THE ABILITY OF OVERCOM
              RESISTANCE UNDER CONDITION OF FATIGUE. COMMONLY USED IN LONG DISTANCE RACES.

          2.  STATIC STRENGTH: IT IS ALSO CALLED ISOMETRIC STRENGTH, ABILITY TO MUSCLES ACT AGAINST
              RESISTANCE. IT IS NOT SEEN DIRECTLY. EX: WEIGHT LIFTING.

          METHODS OF IMPROVING STRENGTH – ISOMETRIC, ISOTONIC, ISOKINETIC EXERCISES

          ISOMETRIC: WHICH ARE NOT VISIBLE, THERE ARE NO DIRECT MOVEMENTS , THEY CAN NOT BE OBSERVED. IN
          THESE EXERCISES, WORK IS PERFORMED BUT IT IS NOT SEEN DIRECTLY.   EX: PUSH A CONCRETE WALL .

          WORK DONE = FORCE X DISTANCE MOVED IN THE DIFFERENT OF FORCE

          ISOTONIC: THOSE EXERCISES IN WHICH MOVEMENT CAN BE SEEN DIRECTLY, IT TONE OF MUSCLES. LENGTH OF
          THE MUSCLES CAN BE INCREASED. IT BEST FOR INCREASED STRENGTH OF MUSCLES. EX: CALESTHENICS
          EXERCISES.
