Examples: ... The eight element from lithium is sodium.
Similarly, eight element from sodium is potassium.

 Advantages of Newland's law of octaves:
                   1. This law provided a basis for the classification of elements into groups of
elements having similar properties, when arranged according to the increasing order of
               atomic mass..
                   2. This law provided a wider scope to arrange all known elements into a tabular form.

 Limitations of Newland's Law of Octaves:

                   1. Newland could arrange elements only up to calcium, out of the total 56
elements known, where properties of elements were repeated at regular
               intervals, after every eight element.
After calcium, every eighth element did not possess properties similar to that
               of the first.
                   2. Two metallic elements, Co & Ni were placed in one slot, with halogens.
                   3. Only 56 elements were known at the time of Newland, but later on, several
elements were discovered, which did not have a place in this arrangement as it
was designed for only the existing 56 elements.
