23.3  Indoor and Outdoor games (2)

        Learning Objective – The students will learn more about indoor and outdoor games.


        Note:



              Indoor games are played inside the house or indoor courts.

              Most of them are board games.


              These games can be played with minimum number of players as two members.

              Anytime at home we can play these games whether it is afternoon, evening or night.

              In Chess, Scrabble maximum of 2players can play at the same time. The equipment

               for this game is a chessboard and chess pieces, for Scrabble there is scrabble board

               and letter tiles.


              Games like Carrom, Ludo and Monopoly are some of the examples of board games.

               In these games 2 to 4 players can play at a time.

              Table  Tennis,  Badminton  2  or  4  players  play  together.  Every  game  has  its  own


               equipment and different rules. For Badminton the required equipment are racquets,

               shuttle cock and for Table Tennis there are tennis bats and a small ping pong ball.

              In  the  same  way  outdoor  games  are  helpful  in  developing  hand-eye  coordination

               with a large group we get the opportunity to improve our social skills.

               We get chance to meet different people and make new friends by playing outside in


               a large group.

               In some games players play the game with groups or teams, for example in Cricket,

               Football and Hockey they play in two teams and each team consists of 11 players.


              Football - the players play with a ball and all other gears.

              Cricket - a bat, ball, stumps and other gears.

              Hockey -Hockey stick and ball with other gears.


        Learning Outcome: -Students can elaborate clearly about indoor and outdoor games.
