22.3 Features of Aquatic Animals
Learning Objective: -The students will learn about the special features of aquatic
animals.
Note:
Every living being has its own features.
Those features work differently as per the requirement. For example: human beings
use their hands to hold things, legs to stand and walk.
In the same way aquatic animals also have different features.
They have scales on their skin to hide and smooth movement.
Some aquatic animals have webbed feet and limbs to act as ores while swimming.
Functions of each feature are as follows:
Eye – It helps them to search their food and to stay alert against their predators.
Gills – It helps them to breathe oxygen present in water.
Mouth –It helps them eat their food.
Fins – They have paired and unpaired fins which help them to swim.
Tail – it acts as paddles and helps them to change their direction while swimming.
Learning Outcome: -Students can tell about the special features of Aquatic animals.
