22.3  Features of Aquatic Animals


          Learning  Objective:  -The  students  will  learn  about  the  special  features  of  aquatic

          animals.



          Note:



                Every living being has its own features.

                Those features work differently as per the requirement. For example: human beings

                  use their hands to hold things, legs to stand and walk.


                In the same way aquatic animals also have different features.

                They have scales on their skin to hide and smooth movement.

                Some aquatic animals have webbed feet and limbs to act as ores while swimming.

                Functions of each feature are as follows:


               Eye – It helps them to search their food and to stay alert against their predators.

               Gills – It helps them to breathe oxygen present in water.

               Mouth –It helps them eat their food.


               Fins – They have paired and unpaired fins which help them to swim.

               Tail – it acts as paddles and helps them to change their direction while swimming.


          Learning Outcome: -Students can tell about the special features of Aquatic animals.
