•Aquatic means relating to water, living in or near water.

• Many kinds of animals live in water. Some live in fresh water like

rivers, lakes, ponds.

• Others live in the salty water sea and oceans.

•An Aquatic animal is an animal which lives in water for most or all

of its life.

•They are cold – blooded means their internal body temperature

changes as the surrounding temperature changes.

•The bodies of most water animals are shaped like boats.

•This helps them to swim fast inside water.

•Some fish breathe oxygen through their special organ known as

gills.

•Some aquatic animals come up to the surface of water to breathe

air.
