22.2 Different Types of Aquatic Animals


          Learning Objective: - The students will learn about different types of Aquatic animals.



          Note: -There are different types of aquatic animals. Some of them are different by their size,

          colour, breathing system, swimming pattern, body type, protective skills and structures. Such

          as:


               Whales –It is the largest of all the animals in earth.


               Flying fish – It has fins like wings and these fins help them to jump in the air.

               Octopus –It has 8 arms or tentacles.

               Sea horse – It has a long tail and it swims in anupright position.


               Puffer fish – It has long poisonous spikes that cover its body.

               Jelly fish – The body of a jelly fish looks like an umbrella or bell-shaped on its top and

                 tentacles are hanging from that bell-shaped body.


               Shark – Shark has very sharp teeth.

               Manta ray – The wings of a manta ray are huge in size.

               Sea Sponge – Sea Sponges are animals and are found on the floor of the ocean.


          These are few examples of different types of aquatic animals. There are many more.



          Learning Outcome –Students can tell about different types of Aquatic animals.
