21.4- FEATURES OF BIRDS
Learning objective - Students will learn about features of a bird.
Note:
Birds are small animals whose bodies are covered with feathers. Feather keeps
their body warm.
Any bird has 6 main features. They are 2 eyes, 2 wings, 2 legs, 1 beak, 1 tail and
claws.
These features of birds have different uses such as wings help birds to fly, tail
helps them to maintain balance of their body.
Birds do not have teeth , so they use their beak to break nuts or to tear flesh of
their prey.
They have leg , feet and claw which helps them to walk , hop and claws help them
to hold the branches of the trees or to perch on the tree.
Birds have very light and hollow bone which helps them to fly.
Learning outcome- Students will now be able to identify and speak about different
features of a bird.
