21.1-  DIFFERENT TYPES OF INSECTS


        Learning objective:-Students will learn about different types of insects.

        Note:

              Insects are small animals having six legs. All insects look different from each other

               because of their colour , size , shape etc.
               Some insects have wings which help them to fly but there are some insects who

               cannot fly, for e.g. termites and ants.
              Some insects have feelers on their head which helps them to feel .
              Some insects have tube like part in their mouth instead of teeth which is used by

               some insects to suck blood for e.g, mosquito and some uses to suck nectar of
               flower for e.g. butterfly.
              Examples of some insects are – mosquito, ant, butterfly, cockroach,bedbug.

              Small animals having more than six legs will not be called as insects. For e.g.-
               scorpions and spiders. They have eight legs and will not be called as insects.

















        Learning outcome-students can now name different types of insects.
