15.2 THE MOON AND STARS


               Learning objective/Aim –The child will be able to know about the

               moon and stars

                     Our earth has only one satellite, the moon

                     The moon is smaller than the Earth.


                     The moon gets its light from the sun. It has no air or water on it,


                       therefore there is no life on the moon.


                     The moon is not hot like the sun.


                      As  the  moon  moves,  the  sun  lights  up  different  parts  of  its

                       surface. That is why the moon shapes seems to be changing.


                      The different moon shapes we see are phases of moon.


                      We  cannot  see  moon  and  stars  in  the  daytime  because  the

                       bright light of the sun.


                     Stars are very far from us, so appear small.


                     Stars can be big or small in size.


                     Stars are as bright as or even brighter than our sun

                     The stars have their own light.




               Learning outcome –The children will be able to write and speak about

               the moon and stars.
