15.2 THE MOON AND STARS
Learning objective/Aim –The child will be able to know about the
moon and stars
Our earth has only one satellite, the moon
The moon is smaller than the Earth.
The moon gets its light from the sun. It has no air or water on it,
therefore there is no life on the moon.
The moon is not hot like the sun.
As the moon moves, the sun lights up different parts of its
surface. That is why the moon shapes seems to be changing.
The different moon shapes we see are phases of moon.
We cannot see moon and stars in the daytime because the
bright light of the sun.
Stars are very far from us, so appear small.
Stars can be big or small in size.
Stars are as bright as or even brighter than our sun
The stars have their own light.
Learning outcome –The children will be able to write and speak about
the moon and stars.
