14.2 WORKING WITH SAND AND CLAY
Learning objective/Aim –The child will be able to know the
differences between sand and clay.
Sand is pale yellow in colour.
Sand is made up of granular material from rocks and mineral
particles.
It can flow easily and it is not sticky,
It is used to make glass .bricks, construction of buildings,
roads etc…
It is found on beaches, deserts, lake shores and river side’s.
Clay is heavy and sticky material dug from the earth
It is a thick heavy soil, soft when it is wet and hard when dries
or baked.
It is used to make pots, bricks, tiles and containers.
Learning outcome-The children will speak and write the differences
about sand and clay.
