14.2 WORKING WITH SAND AND CLAY


               Learning objective/Aim –The child will be able to know the

               differences between sand and clay.


                         Sand is pale yellow in colour.


                         Sand is made up of granular material from rocks and mineral

                          particles.


                         It can flow easily and it is not sticky,


                         It is used to make glass .bricks, construction of buildings,


                          roads etc…

                         It is found on beaches, deserts, lake shores and river side’s.


                         Clay is heavy and sticky material dug from the earth


                         It is a thick heavy soil, soft when it is wet and hard when dries


                          or baked.

                         It is used to make pots, bricks, tiles and containers.



               Learning outcome-The children will speak and write the differences

               about sand and clay.
