 12 noon to 12 midnight is known as p.m and 12 midnight to 12

noon is known as a.m.

a) a.m = anti meridian
b) p.m = post meridian

 The activities like going to school, taking bath, having

breakfast etc is done during the day. So the time will be

written using a.m. For example – going to school is at 7 a.m.

 The activities like sleeping, having dinner, watching TV etc is
done during the evening/night. So the time will be written using

p.m. For example – watching TV is at 7 p.m.
