Lesson 2: Concept of Time

Learning Objective: - Students will be able to understand the

meaning and use of hour hand and minute hand.

Explanation: -

 The clock shows the time and the clocks can be of any shape

such as round, square or triangle.

 There are 2 hands in the clock – the shorter hand is known as
the hour hand and the longer hand is known as the minute

hand.

 Some clocks have second hand also.

 The picture below indicates both the hands. Here, the hour

hand is at 2 and the minute hand is at 12.

Learning Outcome: - Students have learnt to differentiate between

the hour hand and the minute hand.
