Lesson 22.4- Division with remainder
Learning Objective: The students will be able to do division with
a remainder.
Explanation-
When we divide a number with another number the
number gets equally distributed.
We can also get a remainder which is more than 0.
When we get a remainder more than 0 , it means
after dividing the number equally something is
leftover that cannot be divided.
EX- 5
11 ÷ 2 = 2 11
Q=5 10
R=1 1
Here in this example we will read the
multiplication table of 2
As in the table of 2 we don’t get 11 so we choose
the number that is less than and close to 11.
As 10 is close to 11 we will take 10 so the quotient
is 5 as 2×5=10
We can not take 2×6=12 as 12>11.
Subtract 10 from 11 and the remainder is 1.
Learning Outcome: The students are able to do division with a
remainder.
