Lesson 3 and 4.Story problems on real life problems -1 :

Learning objectives: Children will learn to solve story problem with

statement using addition .

 Story problems are like stories. Real life problems are based

on story problems where we use addition to solve the problem.

 Every story has some information and asks us to find out

something.

 We should be very clear about what the information given is
and what we need to find out.

 We will first find out both the numbers and then the addition

words for it like sum, total, add, more, altogether etc.

 From the words like sum, total, add, more etc we will get to

know that the story problem is an addition story problem.

 Then we add it using statement , point-wise .

 Finally we write the answer in a statement.

 Ex-

Q.1 Sam has 16 red marbles and 14 green marbles. How

many marbles does Sam have in all?

Ans. Number of red marbles = 16

Number of green marbles = + 14____

Total number of marbles = __30__

Ans- 30 marbles
