Lesson 16.1 Addition with 2-digit numbers
Learning objectives: Children will learn to add double digit with
double digit without carry over.
Explanation:
When we add a 2-digit number with a 2-digit number , we
first add the digits in the ones place and write the answer in
the ones place ,then we add the digits in the tens place and
write the answer in the tens place.
For example: 34 + 55 = 89
O
T
3 4
5 +
+ 5
8 9
Here in this example we first add the digits in ones place i.e 4+5
and write the answer in the ones place i.e 9,
then we add the digits in the tens place i.e 3+5 and write the
answer in the tens place i.e 8.
So 34 + 55=89.
Learning objectives: Children will learn to add double digit with
double digit without carry over.
