Phonics- /qu/ sound
Learning objective: Students will be able to learn to
identify and read words with / qu/ sound.
Explanation:
‘q’ and ‘u’ letters make different sounds. But when we
put them together, they make a new sound /qu/.
The letter ‘q’ is always followed by letter ‘u’.
The /qu/ sound always occurs in the beginning
and middle of a word.
/q/ and /u/ are always used together. Letter ‘q’ is
never used individually in any word.
For example – quack, quick, quiz, aquarium, squirrel
Learning outcome : Students can learn to identify and
read words with / qu/ sound.
