                                                   Homophones





               Learning  objective:  Students  will  be  able  to  define

               homophones  and  give  examples  of  given  words  that  are

               considered as homophones.





               Explanation:


                     Homophones are pair of words which have –

                             1. The same sound or pronunciation

                             2. Different spellings

                             3. Different meanings

                     It  is  very  easy  to  find  the  other  word  from  a  pair

                       because the sound of both the words remain the same.

                     There  are  many  homophones  in  English  ranging  from

                       small words to bigger words.

                         For example : son – sun, road – rode, hair – hare

                                                   cereal – serial, allowed – aloud




               Learning outcome: Students can demonstrate correct usage

               and spelling of different homophones.
