Lesson 1-Sound Of Letters

Learning Objective: Students will be able to identify the
sounds of alphabets.

Explanation :

 The English alphabet has 26 letters in number from
A a–Z z.

 The letters a,e,i,o and u are known as vowels.

 All the other letters are called consonants.

 The Vowels have a short vowel sound as in

/a/ ant, apple /e/ egg, engine

/i/ inkpot, igloo /o/ ox, octopus

/u/ umbrella, upstairs
In the above words the first letters or a,e,i,o,u have the

short vowel sound.

Learning Outcome: Students can identify the sounds of

the letters of the alphabets.
