PHONICS /ck/ and /ng/
Learning objective : The students will be able to identify,
pronounce and read the words with /ck/ and /ng/ sounds.
Explanation
When ‘c’ and ‘k’ comes together they make the sound of “k”.
The sound of ‘c’, ‘k’ separately and ‘ck’ is similar.
A word will never start with ‘ck’. It will either appear in the
middle or at the end of a word.
For example : pack, lock, pocket, racket
‘n’ and ‘g’ together make a different sound.
When they come together, we can hear individual sounds of ‘n’
and ‘g’.
Words will never start with /ng/. It will always appear at the
end.
For example : ring, sing, king, long
Learning outcome: The students can identify, pronounce and read
the words with /ck/ and /ng/ sounds.
