Learning objective : Students will learn blends like /st/, /sm,
/sp/, /sl/
Explanation:
When two consonants come together, they make a sound and
are called blends. We can hear the sounds of both the
consonants but together.
/st/, /sp/, /sm/ and /sl/ are blends.
Words starting with /st/ are stamp, stop, step, stool, steep,
stare, stand, stole etc.
Words starting with /sp/ are special, speak, spin, spare, speed
etc.
Words starting with /sm/ are small, smell, smudge, smash,
smoke etc.
Words starting with /sl/ are slow, slate, slap, slot, slide etc.
Learning outcome: Students can pronounce the blends correctly and
give some more words with these blends.
