               SUBTOPIC: CARTESIAN COORDINATE SYSTEM AND PLOTTING
               OF POINTS.


               1.  Plot the points A (6, 6),B (4, 4), C (-1, -1) in the Cartesian plane and show that the
                    points are collinear.

               2.  What is the point of intersection of the X-axis and Y-axis called? What are its
                    coordinates.

               3.  A point lies on x-axis at a distance of 9 units from y-axis. What are its coordinates?
                    What will be the coordinates of a point if it lies on y-axis at a distance of - 9 units
                    from X-axis?


               5.  What type of triangle obtained by joining the points A (3, 0), B(0 ,−4),and C (0, 0)?
                    Also, find the area of triangle.


               6.  In the given figure, ∆ PQR is an equilateral triangle with coordinates of Q and R as
                    (-2, 0) and (2, 0) respectively. Find the coordinates of vertex P.























               7.  Plot the following points on a graph paper in successive order and name the figure
                    so obtained:
                    (-4, -2), (-2, -4), (2, -3), (4, 0), (3, 4) and (0, 5).
