1. FIVE SEAONS
Learning Objective- The students will know about the five different seasons.
Note-
Weather is all about a particular day’s condition. It may rainy, cloudy, sunny,
cold. And when a particular type of weather stays for a longer period say a
month or more, then that weather becomes a season.
There are five seasons.. In India there are five seasons: Spring- Vasant
Ritu, Summer-Grishma Ritu, Rainy-Varsha Ritu, Autumn(Fall)-Sharad
Ritu, Winter-Shishir Ritu. But in India we feel only three seasons – summer,
rainy and winter.
In summer the Sun shines very brightly. The days become hot and longer. In
rainy the sky remains cloudy and it rains heavily. The winter season is the
coldest season. The days are short and night becomes long.
The spring is the beautiful season of all seasons. Flowers bloom and
everything looks beautiful. The autumn season is very short period like
spring season. Leaves fall in autumn season.
Learning Outcome- Students can name the five seasons and speak about at least
2 seasons.
2. WEATHER
Learning Objective- The students will know about the different weather
conditions, difference between weather and season.
Note-
Look out of the window. Is it raining? Is it sunny? Is it hot or cold? The
answer of these questions tells you what the weather outside is at that
moment of time. Have you ever watched the weather forecast on the
news? Most weather forecasts will tell us what the temperature will be, if
it is going to rain or snow and whether it will be cloudy or sunny?
There are different kinds of weather like hot, cold, windy, cloudy, rainy
and snowy. When same kind of weather continues for months, we call it a
season.
