P. 2

We have,
               2 3 4 (2+3+4) 9
                / 7 + / 7 + / 7 = / 7 = / 7

               Subtraction of Like Fractions:

In order to subtract two like fractions, we may follow the following steps:

               Step I:

Obtain the two fractions and their numerators.

               Step II:

Subtract the smaller numerator from the bigger numerator.

               Step III:

               Retain the common denominator.

               Step IV:

Write the fraction as Result in Step II / Result in Step III.

               For Example:

                             3
                                        8
               1. Subtract / 10 from / 10

               Solution:

               We have to find,

                       3
               8 / 10 – / 10

               = (8 – 3) / 10

                  5
               = / 10

                                      5
                               7
               2. Compute: / 12 – / 12
               Solution:

               We have,
   1   2   3
