SUBTOPIC: Mirror Image

1. If point P(a, b) is reflected in X-axis to P’ (5, -2) .
(I)Write down the values of ‘a ‘and ‘b’.
(ii) P’’ is the mirror image of P reflected in the Y-axis. Write the coordinates of P’’.

2. Use graph paper to answer the following questions,

(a)Plot the points A (4, 6) and B (1,2)

(b) If A’ is the image of A when reflected in X-axis, write the coordinates of A’.

(c)If B’ is the image of B when B is reflected in the line AA’,

write the coordinate of B’.

(d)Give the geometrical name of ABA’B’ .

5. Find the co-ordinates of the points A, B, C , D , E and F. Which of the points are
mirror images in (i) X -axis?
